Greetings TTMA Friends:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to TTMA’s 81st Annual Convention at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. PGA National offers all one could hope for from an elite resort – luxury spa experiences, outstanding dining opportunities and 6 championship golf courses! All located right on the premises. World-class shopping, dining and ocean activities are also within walking distance or a short shuttle ride from the hotel. Truly an outstanding venue for networking, relaxation and enjoyment!
I would like to offer a special welcome to all who are attending their first convention this year. Each year our event opens with a “First-Timers” Reception where you will have a great opportunity to meet the officers and board members of the association as well as other first time attendees. I am confident that you will find our “TTMA Family” is a fun and engaging bunch that welcomes new members. Please take advantage of the activities and programs here at the convention – they will serve to enhance your industry knowledge, meet others in our industry, and quite often make long term friendships in the association.
The past few years have been challenging to all of us. Three years on and we’re still dealing with the impact of the pandemic. Actual illnesses are largely gone, although some are still impacted, supply chain issues seem to be mending nicely, and the dramatic inflation we experienced appears to be slowing. Despite those hurdles the trucking and trailer industry largely weathered the storm. We still however, face global and national economic uncertainties, a shortage of workers and political tensions in Washington DC. Our programs/speakers this year will attempt to shed some light on those issues. Whatever 2023 brings, after the previous 3 years, I’m certain we can overcome whatever lies in store for us.
Always remember it is your contributions that make TTMA successful. In 2023 I encourage each of you to be even more involved in our trade association initiatives to improve safety, engineering and compliance issues and communication.
TTMA’s Associate Members and spouses provide vital support to our association. Please join me in recognizing our Associate Members – especially those who serve on the Convention Planning Committee each year to coordinate such an outstanding convention each year. The committee has put together an outstanding lineup of speakers, activities, and social events for the Convention this year. I am certain you will enjoy the activities and will find the presentations informational and personally valuable.
Last, but most certainly not least, I want to recognize the Leadership Team at TTMA – Jeff Sims, John Freiler and Carrie Renuart. Together, their dedication and efforts to the continued success of our association and industry is truly remarkable.
Enjoy,
John Rust
TTMA Chairman of the Board
